World's largest building opens in China (3rd July, 2013)

China has many big things. Now it has the world's largest building. It opened this week in Chengdu. It is 500 meters long, 400 meters wide and 100 meters high. Twenty Sydney Opera Houses can go inside. It is three times bigger than the Pentagon. Thousands of workers built it. Chengdu will be a 21st-century city.

The building is like a small city. There are many shops, a 15-screen movie theater and an ice rink. There are also offices, hotels and a water park. The owners want people to come from across the world and make Chengdu famous. Millions of people live in the city. It is an important place for business, and for giant pandas.
