The Asian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) has found 169 bodies in graves in Balochistan, Pakistan. They are thought to be from groups calling for freedom for Balochistan. The AHRC believes they are Balochs arrested by Pakistan's security agencies. The AHRC has asked the U.N. to send a fact-finding mission to find the truth behind the killings. Pakistan says the total number of bodies is just 15. The AHRC has expressed "shock and deep concern" over this.

Balochistan is one of Pakistan’s poorest areas. It has huge natural resources. People want many issues addressed. These include human rights, autonomy, money from natural resources, and full independence. Between 2003 and 2012, an estimated 8,000 people from Balochistan were reportedly kidnapped by Pakistan. Pakistani expert Malik Siraj Akbar said: "The international community must play its role in bringing the people behind these crimes to justice."
