READING:

America's Pew Research Center says almost 60% of Americans think online dating is a good way to meet people and that there is nothing wrong with it. Ten years ago, this figure was 44%. Around one in ten Americans has tried it. The report said 11% of people who met their long-term partner in the past decade met them online. Some people think the Internet does not help people settle down. This is because they always have other people to date.

A sociologist said women must be careful with online dates. He said: "There are lots of guys who are just creepy or unattractive." He said men can have problems finding a date. Women often do not reply because they have so many messages. Many online daters have read an online profile of someone they know. The report said people should be careful about lies. Most online daters have had a date with someone who was a lot different from their profile.
