30,000 bees attack couple, kill ponies (31st July, 2013)

Bee attacks are not only in horror movies. On Wednesday, 30,000 bees attacked Kristen Beauregard, her boyfriend and their two ponies. Ms Beauregard said everything was OK until one pony got scared. It started jumping. There was a dark cloud of bees in the sky. It got dark, like it was night time.

The bees attacked, so the couple jumped into their swimming pool. The pool saved their life. Ms Beauregard was stung 200 times. The bees could only sting if the couple put their head above the water to breathe. The ponies were stung thousands of times. One died on the farm, the other died at a clinic later that evening.
