Finding cause of Asiana crash could take years (9th July, 2013)

Air crash examiners said it could take years to find out why an Asiana Airlines flight crash-landed at San Francisco's airport on Saturday. Head investigator Deborah Hersman said it was too early to think about any pilots' mistakes. Many analysts already said that it probably wasn't an engine problem. They said the Boeing 777 aircraft has a great safety record. We do know that the plane was flying too slowly as it landed.

After firefighters put out the fire, survivors talked about the horror of getting off the plane. They said it was a miracle that 305 people got out alive, although two Chinese students died. Passengers praised the professionalism, quick thinking and unselfishness of the cabin crew. One of the smaller attendants, Jiyeon Kim, carried passengers on her back. One survivor called her "a hero". He said she calmly helped everyone, even though she was crying a lot.
